Bump Like Some Speakers

by Cherish: Not really sure why this track was not on Cherish’s Truth album, but it should have been! Maybe if it was, the album would have had a higher sales record (30K copies TOTAL since May sucks)! Timbaland is the producer of this track and he has made another hit. He done done it again! Done it again! Sorry, I had a Kanye moment :) … The concept and lyrics of this song are fire! I went back to my old repeat habits and I have listened to this song about 10 times straight. It’s that good. Hope you agree…

Go Hard

by DJ Khaled ft. Kanye West & T-Pain: This weekend, someone super duper special asked if I heard this song. Surprisingly, I never heard it and you all KNOW I love almost every song that Kanye is on. Alternatively, I do not like DJ Khaled! Why? Take this song for example – it’s his track and you automatically know by him screaming his name at the beginning – as though his annoying voice wouldn’t give it away. However, if you miss the first 30 seconds of the song, you would think it was a Kanye track featuring T-Pain because DJ Khaled does not say anything besides the intro. Although Kanye’s lyrics are alright, I’m labeling this track as whack because the artist who owns it can’t even complete a full verse!

It’s Over

by John Legend ft. Kanye West: I tag it a hit! John Legend’s new tracks are classic and I really like this one! Kanye kills as it as predicted, but I’m going to need him to put that robot-T-Pain-sounding equipment back in the attic! This sound is way played out! I’m glad John uses his own voice and this track is right on message. Why do people not realize that if you don’t call them “It’s Over”??? Real Talk – I’ve always had a three day rule. If I’m dating someone and they have not called me in three days – It’s Over! Similarly, if you continuously call and I ignore…stop calling! Remember, John Legend’s new album, Evolver, is scheduled to release 10.28.08.

Everybody

by Fonzworth Bentley ft. Andre 3000 & Kanye West: I love the concept of C.O.L.O.U.R.S. : Cool Outrageous Lovers of Uniquely Raw Style. This title fits perfectly for Fonzworth Bentley, Andre 3000 and Kanye West. These three men are definitely unique in their music, attire, and overall personality. I heard C.O.L.O.U.R.S. more than a year ago on Kanye’s mixtape that featured Bently with Pimp C & Lil Wayne. I liked that song, but I had never heard anything else about what I thought was a group until I saw this video a few weeks ago. C.O.L.O.U.R.S. is actually the title of Fonzworth Bentley’s album that does not have a scheduled release date. I really like this song and the video is purely comical. I like the old school flow with the synchronized dancing, but Kanye dancing takes the cake!

Love Lockdown

by Kanye West: After a year ago stating he would never perform at the VMAs again, Kanye closed the show with a bomb performance! This man is a genius. He chose to perform a song that no one has ever heard. The VMAs served as the single’s release and this will be the first song released off his upcoming album, Good Ass Job, that has been confirmed to release in December. Let me tell you how crazy technology is…Previously, the song had not been released and no one heard it before the awards tonight. Yet, going on YouTube, people have already uploaded the footage from the show. While some footage is low quality from people recording their TV, there is also high quality from those whose TV recorded the content. In case you missed Kanye’s performance, you can always watch it here!

Swagger Like Us (S.L.U.)

by T.I. ft. Kanye West, Jay-Z, & Lil Wayne: JUST LEAKED! The hottest four in the game! First listen, I think the “swagger like us” needs to be played down a bit. A majority of the time, this overpowers the lyrics of the artists. Hottest verse given to Kanye no doubt! Jay follows as a close second. Listen for yourself…

Jocking Jay-Z

by Jay-Z: This is for all those Jay-Z lovers that hate on Kanye West. I don’t understand how you can hate on the man’s protégé. Clearly Jay likes Kanye’s skills enough to let him produce the first track to be released off his album Blueprint 3. We all know the sample king didn’t create this beat on his own as it was snatched right from Run DMC’s Dumb Girl. Maybe that is why this song doesn’t really feel like Jay, but some hot joint from the 80s. This song is so different from a lot of songs that are out right now and for all of you who will be partial to this beat, it’s like I say with all of Kanye’s hits: Just listen to the lyrics. So classic that someone special was making fun of me the other day because I didn’t know what “jocking” meant. Glad I know now! Oh…and after listening to this song a few times, Obama count on 6iv=3.

Listen to the Lyrics

I’m feeling musically inclined this morning, so I will keep the posts coming…I want to state that Kanye West is my favorite MC! I’m gonna dedicate a section of my blog called “The Sample King” to this lyrical genius. This section will feature songs by Kanye and the infamous songs that he has sampled to create his hits. I don’t want anyone to think this is to diss Kanye; I only want others to be as enthusiastic about him as I am! The first feature is an unreleased track called The Stalker Song (Never Lettin Go) which samples Phoebe Snow’s Never Let Go.
