Danity Kane

I know I can’t be the only one still in awe about Danity Kane breaking up. They are one of the few groups that were created on television that made it! More importantly, they were one of VERY few groups that were created on television that had great tunes. Both albums, Danity Kane and Welcome to the Dollhouse, went platinum and the group was continuously successful. I know Diddy was hurtin by the outcome of the group’s breakup and he let them know who was BOSS – not Rick Ross! He let all their success come to an end quick! In my opinion, Aubrey ruined it for everyone! This chick has posed for Playboy and Diddy peeped her intentions from the start. Everybody thought Mr. Combs was being mean and pointing fingers at Aubrey. Yea, he was. But that is only because she deserved it. This post isn’t to put Aubrey on blast, but to remind everyone to watch Making the Band on Thursdays @ 9pm as this is the last chance to see the remaining group members together as Diddy dismantles the group. Danity Kane was a great first album and Welcome to the Dollhouse accurately displayed the group’s maturity into an older sound. I was looking forward to a third album and I am hurt that the album will never come to form :( What are the girls of Danity Kane going to do now that they aren’t members of the group? Aubrey is in Playboy and Dawn is rumored to be signed as a solo artist. What about the rest???

  1. Yeah, Diddy made a great decision. He had a platinum group; now he doesn’t. That makes a lot of sense.

Whatever was going on they were going platinum anyway, so what was the problem? There wasn’t one that the public would have ever known about if Diddy didn’t through his little temper tantrum because of his ego.

Way to stop getting money; yeah, makes perfect sense.

You really be drinking puffs kool aid, hun

  2. Thanks Yobachi for your comment! It’s great to start discussions :)
Personally, I don’t think the decision to break up the group has anything to do with money. Diddy is successful and will have many more groups come his way. To him, Danity Kane is one of many future possibilities. For him, it is more about the girls respecting his opinion, his vision, and his image. When he made this group, he didn’t put Aubrey in the group to be a sex kitten. He wanted her to be someone girls could identify with and look up to. Over time, she changed her image and he wasn’t feelin’ it. He asked her to change the direction she was headed, she didn’t, and look where it got the group.
Not only did she change his vision, but she disrespected him and questioned his authority. I don’t remember the exact words that were said but I do remember thinking “OH SNAP!” the last time all the group members were sitting at the table on MTB. She was pushing to make her way out of the group. She had other intentions from the getgo. Unlike Aundrea who said she just wants to sing and be a part of Danity Kane, not all the group members feel that way. One the last episode of MTB, Diddy invited all the girls back and only two showed up. Is he now supposed to beg them to come back when they apparently made their own decision???
