by Mariah Carey ft. Nicki Minaj: I don’t even know what to say about this video besides it is a hot mess! I miss the old Mariah – you know…the one before Honey! Mariah has become a disappointment. And don’t even get me started on her assistant, Nick! Oh my bad. I meant her husband. I think back to Vision of Love, Emotions, Can’t Let Go, Anytime You Need a Friend, and I Give My All (just to name a few) and those are some PRICELESS jams. Today, I don’t even take the time to download her albums. Even when I can get them for free! I’m really speechless when it comes to Mariah today. Only thing I can say is watch and I hope you can make it thru the whole video. It honestly took me 3 times to make it thru. Be on the lookout for Nick, who was the director and included a special segment from Drum Line. Just whack!

by Jamie Foxx ft. Kanye West & Dream: I was listening to a mixtape earlier and this song came up in the queue. I like the background music, but I don’t think I have really listened to any words other than Kanye’s. This should have been Kanye’s track! I’ve tried repeating the track several times and the other artist’s just don’t make the song a hit for me. Rather, I think the track is too mainstream and requires you to overlook the lyrics to focus on the beat, melody, etc. until Kanye comes back up on the closing verse …I stated earlier on @6inchvinyl (one of my Twitter accts) that I didn’t know Jamie Foxx has a new album, Intuition, to be released THIS Tuesday. I knew he had a single out with T.I., but I thought the track was T.I.’s and didn’t make it to Paper Trail. I must say that this a perfect example of HORRIBLE marketing. When Jamie Foxx’s first album was released, he was everywhere! I practically knew the whole album before the tracklist was officially released. This brings an interesting point: Is it better for an artist to release half of his/her album before it is released to get a following? Or, is it better to leave fans guessing until the album drops? P.S. The track is Song of the Day because Kanye’s production and lyrics are hot, but it is also Wiggity Wiggity Whack because Jamie’s verse’s are below par for this to be his song!

by Enrique Iglesias ft. Ciara: Enrique Iglesias back from retirement? And on a track with Ciara? Is this the weirdest mix ever, or is it just me? This is definitely Enrique’s style, but what is Ciara doing? Is this her attempt to branch out from urban into new genres? If so, I respect her attempt but she needs to give it a rest. I am excited to see what is up and coming from Enrique. However, Ciara’s first few tracks off her upcoming album have not been well received by her fans. This single is not on her album, Fantasy Ride, but is on Erique’s Greatest Hits album. Regardles, CiCi better get it together and quick. Album drops 1.09.

by DJ Khaled ft. Kanye West & T-Pain: This weekend, someone super duper special asked if I heard this song. Surprisingly, I never heard it and you all KNOW I love almost every song that Kanye is on. Alternatively, I do not like DJ Khaled! Why? Take this song for example – it’s his track and you automatically know by him screaming his name at the beginning – as though his annoying voice wouldn’t give it away. However, if you miss the first 30 seconds of the song, you would think it was a Kanye track featuring T-Pain because DJ Khaled does not say anything besides the intro. Although Kanye’s lyrics are alright, I’m labeling this track as whack because the artist who owns it can’t even complete a full verse!

by Dem Franchize Boyz ft. Lloyd: I will mark this as a hit only because Lloyd is on the chorus. Lloyd makes this song with his raspy voice. Had Lloyd not been on the track, I would have passed it like numerous other whack songs I hear on a daily basis. Nothing left to say because the rest of the song does not deserve my time…

by Cassidy: I have always thought that Cassidy was whack. He sounds exactly the same on EVERY track! It seems as though he comes out every two years with a summer hit. After the track garners success by topping a few charts, Cassidy is ghost! First it was I’m a Hustla then it was Two Step. Real talk – I used to be jamming to Two Step, but that was last summer. For this summer, I really hope this is not his one hit. I am not sure if this track is off of his upcoming album Cassidy, which is scheduled to come out late this year or early ’09, but I am labeling this track as whack!

This man is the definition of a true hustler! The season first started a few weeks ago when he debuted a new show on VH1 entitled I Want to Work for Diddy! He got me! I can’t even lie. I love these reality shows. Then, hop on over to MTV and there is Making The Band 4 with Day 26 and Danity Kane. These groups are about to go on tour for 6 weeks = MORE money in the bank! Oh, I almost forgot about the solo member of Making the Band 4 – Donnie. I saw his new video the other day and guess who the featured artist is? You got it, Diddy! Not to mention, the track is wiggity wiggity whack! Cassie also debuted a new track, Official Girl, which features Lil’ Wayne and her attire in the video is H-O-T!

Someone brought this to my attention a few weeks ago and I thought it was purely comical. As The-Dream releases more songs, I realize it more often. Groundbreaking thought: EVERY song The-Dream is on and/or produces, he or the artist repeats what is said during the chorus similar to an echo. Take this new track by LL Cool J…”I’m your baby, your baby, your baby, your baby…” Ok, let’s take it back to Rihanna’s song “You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella…” Then we have J. Holiday’s “I’m a put you to bed, bed, bed…” So either homeboy has a stuttering problem (which there is nothing wrong with because I sometimes do) or he needs to work on expanding his vocabulary.

by Andre 3000 & Che Grand: There was a general consensus that The Love Below was better than Speakerboxxx. From someone who was born and raised in the South, Outkast represents success for an unconventional rap group. I know Andre 3k is on a-whole-nother level and I respect his flow and creativity…But, what is this? Even Lil Wayne stated that “You gotta stand out like Andre 3K,” but I think Andre might want to step back in on this track! Although, he is only on the chorus and not the whole song, I heard this song and thought WTF? I figured it out though…I don’t need to know Che Grand is. This track has Andre’s stamp of approval on it, which means that most of us just won’t understand.

by David Banner ft. Lil Wayne: This song is WHACK! I heard Wayne was on the track and I automatically registered it as a hit. I couldn’t take the comment back quick enough! This may bump in the club because you can’t hear the lyrics, but as far as being a quality song…NEVER! There is nothing else to say…
